That’s me on the left.

Sunday morning I worked as a greeter for the first service of a new church plant in Johnson City. More than 100 people gathered in a gym to worship God and start an exciting new journey together. The air was charged with anticipation; the excitement was almost tangible in the room. At first I was worried about being the first face visitors would see–until a dear friend said, “Hey, you’re easy on the eyes first thing in the morning.” We chuckled, and it really set me at ease. (Thanks, brother Sal!)

Later, Rebecca brought a cup of coffee to me. As she delivered the steaming cup, she smiled and quoted Psalm 84:10: “I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” ”How cool is that,” I replied. “I’m literally doing that.”

Today I will spend the day with my Dad. I’ll be hanging out with him as he performs his duties as a Chaplain at two local nursing homes. I’ll be sharing in devotions with the staff and residents, visiting with the residents, and making hospital calls. I’m really looking forward to it. Not only is it a day to spend with my Dad, but I will also get to share in his ministry. And that will make it an extra-special day.

Hope you have a blessed and joyous day!

In His perfect love,

Dwight
